Get a First Look at ABC's Senior Leading Man, "The Golden Buckler"

A spin-off of "The Bachelor" for senior citizens has been planned for several years.

Turner, who's first name is pronounced GAIR-ee, married his high school sweetheart, Toni, in 1974 the two living a "full and happy life" with their two daughters, Angie and Jenny, and later two granddaughters, Charlee and Payton. But after 43 years together, Toni fell ill

 Gerry Turner, 71, who will be the first elderly star of "The Bachelor" series in its 20 years on television, has been announced by ABC as the star of "The Golden Bachelor."

 According to the key art of "The Golden Buckler", the main male worker is older than the art of the franchise as a whole.  The back of the mysterious man's head appears in promotional material for the new season, which will premiere this fall;  We can see the salt and pepper in her hair and hair.

 Turner was cast as the lead of the spinoff, which would feature "an entirely new kind of love story – for the golden years" after ABC fulfilled its pledge to produce a senior citizen drama.  According to a synopsis provided by the network, "a hopeless romantic is given a second chance at love in search of a partner with whom to share life's sunset years."
